Oman

Sandy dunes, rocky wadis and pristine beaches fill the landscape of the sunny Sultanate of Oman. Its long coastline, bathed by the Indian Ocean, is dotted with fishing villages, luxury resorts and stretches of some of the most beautiful beaches in the Arabian Peninsula. Dhow cruises in the rocky north offer stunning views of the shore and exciting snorkelling experiences, often interrupted by curious yet friendly pods of dolphins.
Moving inland towards the mountains, one can’t help but appreciate the tranquil surroundings, as lonely streams cross the canyons and date plantations line the valleys, bringing colour to the otherwise arid landscape.
The cities, however, offer quite the opposite. During the day, clamouring crowds fill the busy souks in Sohar and Salalah, shouting for bargains on everything from jewellery to spices. And as the sun goes down, Muscat lights up and steals the show, with its bustling nightlife around the Mutrah Corniche.
